Basil is among the herbs I love the most. This year the basil plant on my balcony has grown so much and besides preparing pesto I had to invent something else to use it. I asked my Instagram followers what they would like to see between a basil tonic or a basil mask and the second option won out. In this article, I will show you my DIY recipe for a basil face mask.

DIY basil face mask | Ingredients
To create a moisturizing and great face mask for any skin type, I used:
- 10 basil leaves
- 3 teaspoons of white yogurt
- water
I thought of using basil in my DIY beauty recipes for its excellent benefits when applied to the skin. Basil is rich in antioxidants, so why not use it as an anti-aging ally?
DIY basil face mask | Procedure
In order to benefit from its nutrients, I created this DIY face mask in just a few steps and a few minutes.
The main steps are:
- Wash basil leaves thoroughly to remove dust and dirt.
- Shred them with mortar or blender
- Add a little water to facilitate the process
- Filter the basil juice with a strainer
- Combine 3 teaspoons of white yogurt and 2 teaspoons of basil juice
- Mix and apply to clean face
The application is very simple. Simply apply with a cotton ball or brush and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and apply face cream.
Suggestions
To enrich the DIY basil face mask, I recommend adding a teaspoon of aloe vera gel and a teaspoon of honey. Aloe vera gel is a real panacea with its countless nutrients. Excellent for moisturizing, nourishing, and soothing the skin. Honey is a natural humectant that helps the skin to be moisturized and bright. If you have them at home, add them to your face mask, your skin will thank you.
