Making soaps at home is definitely my favorite hobby! The techniques I use most are the melt and pour and cold process method, with which I have a lot of fun creating new soaps as original as possible. Today, I will show you how to make green tea soap without caustic soda. I will use the melt and pour technique to make an easy and elegant soap. I use this technique when I need to create a soap but I don’t have much time, or when I want to make something particularly unique. Have you seen the soap snowman I made for Christmas? Take a look at it here, because it will surprise you!
But before..if you’re interested in learning more about the melt and pour technique, check out the course I create! A course for beginners to start creating your homemade soaps, right away!!

How to make Melt and Pour Soap with Green Tea
The melt and pour technique is a simple way to make soap at home. This technique is also perfect for activities with children because it does not require the use of caustic soda as is, instead, necessary for the cold process. It a fun activity for children who will have fun melting and coloring the soaps! If you want to entertain your children or grandchildren, this recipe may be suitable for you!
Melt and Pour Soap – Ingredients
So let’s start with the basic recipe!!
- 50g pure glycerin bar (you can find it here)
- 5g of soap dye for glycerin (a good option here)
- a soap mold (you can find it here)
- 20g Shea Butter (here where you can find it)
- 1 Organic Green Tea Bag (find it here)
As promised, the recipe is really easy with only a few ingredients.
How to make Melt and Pour Soap with Green Tea | Procedure
(1) Put the melt and pour soap base and the dye in a bowl and (2) melt them in a microwave (30 sec.) or in a water bath.
(3) Add Shea Butter to the melted soap mixture and, when it is completely homogeneous, (4) pour in it also the content of a green tea bag. This will act as a gentle scrub for our hands while the Shea Butter will act as a moisturizer and nourisher for the skin.
Once the mixture is completely homogeneous (5) pour it into the plastic soap mold and (6) keep it in the fridge for a couple of hours. The presence of superficial bubbles can be removed by spraying rubbing alcohol 🙂
Conclusion
The procedure is really easy and doesn’t require a lot of time! 🙂 So let be inspired and prepare your melt and pour soap! Share with me your creations! I can’t wait to see them!
